Manhasset Lakeville Water Tank Demolition
LOGISTICS
Site is currently active and used Manhasset/Lakeville Water Authority. Site contains several outbuildings and a new water tower constructed in close proximity to the tower to be demolished. Special precaution, protection, and planning was taken in order to prevent any disruption of the active facilities.
DEMOLITION
Demolition of existing 163’ tall, 500,000 gallon elevated water tank. Demolition includes removal of entire tank structure, tank legs and riser column.
CRANE PICK
Elevated tank demolished with laborers equipped with torches. Tank is sized into manageable pieces and collected in the lower bowl. These pieces were then picked by crane to ground level.
RECYCLING
Steel debris generated from the tank demolition is being sized, processed, hauled and recycled to a licensed steel recovery facility.
