Marlon Maldonado, Teamster Driver

Teamster Driver, Marlon Maldonado

Marlon came highly recommended by Rafael, a fellow Gramercy Operator and has now been driving for Gramercy for two and a half years.

With over 12 years of experience, Marlon can handle various vehicles such as roll-off, dump trailer, and lowboys. Maneuvering a 10 ft. wide lowboy on a 10 ft. lane amidst traffic requires skill and patience, both of which Marlon possesses. He plays a crucial role in keeping things moving smoothly from the field to the office. He moves all of our equipment and we appreciate how much he takes pride in his work and getting our equipment safely to our next project.

Marlon always makes sure to get the Gramercy equipment safely to its next job site.

Beyond work, Marlon has a lovely family with his wife whom he met while driving her to church as a taxi driver. They have three children, ages 5, 11, and 12. In his free time, Marlon enjoys watching his daughter perform in her band and his son play soccer.

Originally from Honduras, Marlon came to America at the age of 10 with his parents and four siblings. We appreciate Marlon for being an integral part of the Gramercy team.

Karol Jananis, Operator/Welder

 Operator/Welder, Karol Jananis

Karol has been operating and welding at Gramercy for about a year, bringing 12 years of operation experience to his role. Although he’s a skilled operator, handling both mini excavators and Brokk demo robots, his true passion is welding.

Growing up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Karol attended St. Andres Academy in Brooklyn, before enlisting in the Army. While serving overseas he met his wife and this year they are celebrating 23 years of marriage. After the military, Karol went to college for travel and tourism, but soon found himself working in his father’s jewelry business, fusing gold.

Karol realized how much he enjoyed working with his hands and soon moved into working as a laborer, where he did pipeline welding before coming to Gramercy.

Karol and his wife have three children, a daughter who is 20 and a teacher, a son, who is 16 and interested in math, science and engineering, and another daughter who is 13. In his spare time he enjoys spending quality time with his family, watching his daughter play volleyball or hunting and paint balling with his son.

Thank you Karol for joining the Gramercy team!

Justin Lambert, Local 138 Operator

Local 138 Operator, Justin Lambert

Justin was born and raised in Wantagh and has been working for Gramercy for the past two years. His first project with us was the Macy’s in Commack. Justin’s interest in construction began when he worked a summer job in college. After graduating from SUNY Oneonta, where he initially pursued a career in accounting, he realized his passion was in construction.

Justin started as a laborer and worked his way up to become an operator and a truck driver. Justin wanted to share his gratitude for the training he received during his 138 apprenticeship. He says It helped get to where he is today. We like to think of him as a jack-of-all-trades!

Justin has two younger brothers and enjoys spending his spare time riding his ATVs, exercising, playing video games, and hanging out with his girlfriend.

Thank you, Justin, for being an essential part of our team, and we look forward to continuing to work together on future projects.
