Demolition by hand and mechanical means of 900,000 SF of buildings along the Hudson River in Yonkers, NY. Demolition and removal of bulkheads surrounding the studio building to remain.
All ferrous and non-ferrous metals derived from the demolition was salvaged and recycled
Cofferdams, shoring and dewatering systems were installed in order to hold back water from the Hudson River for the excavation of 50,000 TONS of hazardous and non-hazardous PCB contaminated soils. All soils were loaded via railcar for disposal. Dewatering wastewater was treated on-site and discharged on-site with SPEDES permits. Also a RCRA TSCA project.
Backfilling of 50,000 TONS of imported material, asphalt cap installation over the entire site, concrete decking over areas of tidaly effected soils and the installation of new rip rap along the Hudson River.
