We’re taking a look back at our March #MeetTheTeam Monday employee profiles. This month, it’s a family affair, with two of our team members having strong family ties to the company. Let’s get to know these outstanding pros.

Nahaman Garcia, Equipment Painter

Equipment Painter, Nahaman Garcia

Noe has been with Gramercy for almost two years, during which time he has taken on a significant role in painting our equipment. We work our machines hard, so we always like to clean them up when they return to the shop. Noe has been instrumental in this process.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Noe previously worked in the mining industry, performing fleet maintenance and office work. Noe values his job at Gramercy because it provides him with the opportunity to learn new things. When he is not painting, he is assisting mechanics with repairs. To date, he has painted over 50 pieces of equipment, ranging from Bobcats to containers and our crusher.

The proud father of two boys, ages 16 and 8, in his free time Noe enjoys reading, watching movies, and going to the gym. Noe is one of six brothers (one of whom happens to be his twin) and also has one sister.

We appreciate Noe’s hard work and dedication to keeping our equipment looking good. Thank you for being part of our team, Noe!

Edwin Grijalva, Local 15 Operator

Local 15 Operator, Edwin Grijalva

Although he officially joined the company in October of 2022, we consider Edwin to be a lifelong member of the Gramercy family.

As the son of Raphael, one of our first operators, Edwin grew up around our business. He fondly recalls spending Saturdays watching his father work. It was clear then that construction was in his blood.

For Edwin, the best part of working in construction is the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a project and making a difference each day.

As the oldest of three brothers, he takes pride in doing his best work. In his free time, Edwin enjoys hiking and spending time with his girlfriend and their German Shepherd, Maya.

Thank you, Edwin. We are grateful to have you officially on our team.

Richard Hanczyk, Project Engineer

Project Engineer, Richard Hanczyk

Richard joined our team a little over six months ago, after being highly recommended by Gramercy Project Manager Christian L. Escalera, who had worked with him in the past.

Coincidentally, Richard’s father, Ricky, was a hard-working asbestos supervisor at Gramercy for over a decade. Although he passed away a few years ago, everyone who had the pleasure of working with Ricky knew he was a dedicated professional and to know him was to love him.

Richard’s father, Ricky, was a beloved member of the Gramercy family

Richard inherits his father’s strong work ethic, evident in his contributions to our team. He initially pursued a finance major at Hofstra University, but soon realized that he wanted to be in the field as a Civil Engineering rather than in an office.

Currently, Richard is working on our Manhattan Detention Center project. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, particularly the Mets, as he is a proud Queens boy. We’re grateful to have Richard on the Gramercy team.
