We’ve had the honor of welcoming many new faces to the Gramercy family and today we’d like to introduce you to some of our newest hires as well as a few of our outstanding veteran employees! Let’s Meet the Team and check out our team spotlights for May and June 2024.

Brianxis Jimenez, MBA, Environmental Project Manager

We’re thrilled to welcome Brianxis Jimenez, MBA a new addition who recently joined the Gramercy team.

Brianxis was recommended to us by an executive recruiter while she was working in Chicago. As a New Yorker, she knew she wanted to return to the Big Apple, making it the perfect opportunity to interview at Gramercy.

In high school, Brianxis originally wanted to be a fashion designer, taking sketch and fashion classes. However, when it was time for college, she realized she wanted to pursue something different. She attended Syracuse University and majored in Environmental Engineering. Her father, an engineer in the Dominican Republic, and her mother, a lawyer, likely influenced her decision to follow a path that values education and technical expertise.

After graduating college, she worked for a lighting company for a few years before joining the MTA in construction management, eventually transferring to the environmental department. When the world shut down during COVID, she had the opportunity to work and earn her MBA from the University of Rochester.

Upon completion, Brianxis then pursued a career in management consulting and environmental sustainability. As someone who loves to learn and take on new challenges, she says she is happy to return to construction, as she enjoys being in the field and seeing the work come to life.

Thank you Brianxis! We are very to happy to have you on the Gramercy team.

Alex Grijalva, Local 138

We’d like to introduce Alex Grijalva from Local 138.

Alex has been working as a Local 138 operator since November 2019 and is currently assigned to the Computer Associates project in Long Island. He is the son of one of our first operators, Rafael Grijalva, who has been with Gramercy Group for over 20 years.

From a young age, Alex knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an operator for Gramercy. He says he is grateful for the opportunity to be part of our team. Alex lives in Stamford, Connecticut, with his brother Edwin, who is also an operator for Gramercy. Remarkably, they live next door to their parents and younger brother!

We often say how lucky we are to have this wonderful family and for them to be a part of our team for so many years. We couldn’t ask for more now that Rafael’s sons are working with us as well.

Alex always tries his best and truly enjoys his job because as he says, he learns new things every day.

Thank you for your hard work, Alex and for being a dedicated part of our team.

Anthony Vicciardo Sr. and Anthony Vicciardo Jr.

We are excited to reintroduce a remarkable father and son duo: Anthony Vicciardo Sr. and Anthony Vicciardo Jr.

Anthony Sr., our esteemed Director of Operations, has been a cornerstone of Gramercy since 2008. His leadership and dedication have been instrumental in shaping our operations and driving our success.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Anthony Vicciardo, Jr. joined the Gramercy family in 2011 as an Estimator. His precision and expertise have significantly contributed to our project successes.

Both Anthony Sr. and Anthony Jr. are true Gramercy legends. Their unwavering commitment, hard work, and many years of service are deeply appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to both of you for your invaluable roles and dedication!

Daniel Carrasquillo, Mechanic

Danny is new to the Gramercy team, having joined the company just three months ago. His experience as a mechanic however goes back decades and started in his youth when he began working on his father’s car. Danny knew it was his calling and continued to teach himself the trade. His belief was correct, because Danny has been working as a mechanic for an astounding 35 years.

Danny says that he enjoy his workdays at Gramercy, which are always different, and that is what he likes most about his profession—the challenge of fixing something new. Whether it’s fabricating parts, installing a motor, or doing electrical work, he says he never wakes up wondering what he will do today because he knows he will be busy.

Danny grew up in Brentwood and now resides in Holbrook with his fiancée, Danielle. He met Danielle at Jr’s Steak House because they both had a fondness for the game Clash of Clans. She eventually joined his team, and the rest is history!

For around five years now, Danny has served as a volunteer fireman and ambulance driver in Holbrook. He had always wanted to be a fireman and now dedicates many nights to the firehouse. When he isn’t volunteering or repairing equipment, Danny enjoys going out on the water and boating.

Thank you Danny, we are grateful you chose to join the Gramercy team!

Kimani Thomas, Local 79 Apprentice

Kimani Thomas has been with Gramercy for close to a year. Before joining us, he worked for another contractor, performing concrete cutting. Our superintendent Brian, recognized Kimani’s hard work and recommended him for our team. Kimani began his career in residential construction at the age of 16 and gradually advanced to his current position in Local 79. He aspires to eventually become an operator.

Brian praised Kimani as a valuable team member who excels at keeping track of tools and managing ground control, earning him the nickname “KC Tools” on our MDC site! Kimani recently completed his 32-hour rigging class, which happens to be one of his favorite aspects of construction.

The eldest of five children, in his spare time, Kimani enjoys working on his track car, watching basketball, and cooking — Italian cuisine is his favorite.

Kimani’s advice for anyone looking to enter the construction industry is to know what you want to do and always pay attention to your surroundings. We think that’s excellent advice!

Kimani, thank you for being an integral part of the Gramercy Team!

Jacob Giglio, 138 Apprentice

We’d like to introduce you to Jacob Giglio, a 138 apprentice who joined Gramercy eight months ago. We’re thrilled to have him as a part of the team as he has proven to be a valuable addition.

Jake embarked on the apprentice program for 138 with the help of his mother. The youngest of six siblings, Jake has a twin sister who is pursuing architecture and an older brother who will soon be featured for his work at Gramercy.

Primarily working on site cleanup, Jake’s role is pivotal in our demolition operations. Hailing from Riverhead, NY, starting at the age of three, Jake developed a passion for golf. He excelled in the sport, earning a spot on the varsity golf team in 8th grade and continuing throughout high school, alongside with participating in lacrosse. Now, in his spare time, Jake is a server and also caddies on the weekends.

Jake’s enthusiasm is infectious, and we are excited to witness his growth and ongoing contributions to our organization. Thank you Jake for your hard work and dedication to Gramercy.
