We’re proud to showcase two of our outstanding employees for the month of February. Both have shown enormous dedication and work ethic and we’re grateful to have them as a part of the Gramercy team. Let’s meet them now:

Nicholas Kelty, Project Engineer

Project Engineer Nicholas Kelty

Nick has been working at Gramercy for almost a year now and serves as the field engineer for the Manhattan DDC project.

Originally, Nick set out to become a physical therapist. However, after a year at SUNY Cortland, he decided to transfer to SUNY Farmingdale to complete his degree in Construction Management and follow in his family’s tradition in the industry. Nick’s grandfather owned a demolition business, his father serves as the Safety Director here at Gramercy, and two of his brothers also work in construction.

Nick finds his job dynamic and enjoyable, using the analogy of being a “hybrid” between the office and the field, much like a running back. He attributes his gift of gab to both his mother and father and is an effective communicator, relaying information smoothly between the two areas of the business.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys working out to maintain his physical and mental well-being. On a personal note, Nick is married to a woman he has known since elementary school and together they have a dog named Murphy.

Christian Escalera, Project Manager

Project Manager, Christian Escalera

Christian has been with Gramercy for a little over a year, and we’re thrilled to have him on our team. He grew up in Puerto Rico and earned his undergraduate degree in civil engineering there. He later pursued a Master’s in Civil Engineering at NYU.

Inspired by his engineer grandfather, Christian always knew he wanted to become one as well. He developed a passion for building at a young age, and he reminisced about his first project as a child, which was building a skateboard ramp at his house.

Christian is married to Melissa, a professional soccer player who competed in the Olympics representing Colombia. In their spare time, they enjoy playing and watching soccer together.

We appreciate Christian’s hard work and dedication, and we’re happy to have him as a valued member of our team. Christian is currently training for the Boston Marathon, and we wish him the best of luck!
