We closed out 2025 by welcoming new faces to the Gramercy Group team while celebrating many of our long-time employees. We’re happy to share the stories of these outstanding Gramercy team members.
Christopher Eager, Chief Financial Officer

We’re excited to welcome Christopher Eagar to the team as our new CFO!
Although Chris has officially been with us for just over a month, he already feels like a natural fit. He came highly recommended by our outside accounting partners at Grassi, and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board.
Accounting runs in Chris’s family — his brother, father, uncle, and even his grandmother are all accountants. While he originally dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, he ultimately followed a different (but equally impactful) path into accounting.
Chris was also a dedicated baseball player growing up and even committed to play at Flagler College during his senior year of high school. After a shoulder injury and surgery changed those plans, he stayed close to home and earned his degree from St. Joseph’s College.
When asked why he chose construction accounting, Chris shared that he loves the versatility of the industry. He enjoys learning about each project, understanding how all the pieces fit together, and collaborating closely with project managers and business leaders to truly understand the work behind the numbers.
💡 His best advice for anyone interested in construction accounting:
Get out of the accounting department. Spend time in the field, talk to the teams, and learn the business. He also recommends gaining public accounting experience early on — an experience that helped shape him into the well-rounded business professional he is today.
Outside of work, Chris has been married to his wife Jessica for five years, and together they are proud parents of two children. In their spare time, they enjoy boating, trips to the Poconos, and spending quality time with family.
Chris, we’re so glad to have you on our team and are excited to watch you grow with us. Welcome aboard!
Jason Deabreu, Local 854 Driver

We’d like to introduce you to Jason Deabreu, one of our valued drivers who has been part of the Gramercy family for over two years.
From day one, Jason has brought positivity, professionalism, and a smile to everything he does — and we couldn’t be happier to have him on our team.
Before joining Gramercy, Jason spent 18 years working in sanitation, then took some well-deserved time off to be with his children. When our dispatcher Anthony heard Jason was available, he brought him in for an interview — and with his Class A license and strong work ethic, it was a perfect fit from the start.
Jason’s journey is as impressive as it is inspiring. After high school, he earned a baseball scholarship to Florida State, then spent some time boxing before discovering his passion for trucking with his Uncle Lester, who owned a trucking company. Following his uncle’s advice, Jason got his Class A license and has been driving since he was 21 years old.
Outside of work, Jason is all about family and sports. He’s a proud father of four boys and a grandfather, and he never misses a game — whether it’s basketball, baseball, or soccer. He’s also a lifelong sports fan, tuning into The Fan every morning on his route.
Jason comes from a strong and inspiring family. His father, a retired police officer and competitive bodybuilder, even competed against Lou Ferrigno (the Hulk!) back in the day — bench pressing Cadillacs!
When asked what advice he’d give to other drivers, Jason keeps it simple:
“Stay safe — and if you’re going to become a driver, go straight for your Class A license.”
Jason, thank you for your hard work, positivity, and dedication. We’re lucky to have you as part of the Gramercy team!
John McGrath, Vertical Transportation Department Lead

We’re happy to welcome John McGrath to the Gramercy team!
Though he’s been with us for the past three months, we’re thrilled to highlight his journey and the experience he brings with him.
John was introduced to us by Gramercy Vice President Joseph Castaldo, PE, DBIA. Born in Commack and raised in Queens, he has deep roots in the construction industry and got his start in the elevator business through his father, who owned a family elevator company with his brothers. Out of his five siblings, three also worked alongside their father, giving John exposure to every side of the industry. From hands-on technical skills to business and project management, John’s become versatile in all aspects of construction.
Before joining Gramercy, John worked for the MTA, where he further expanded his expertise in managing complex projects and navigating the challenges of large-scale infrastructure work. Notably, he was part of the Second Avenue Subway project, one of the largest elevator and escalator projects in New York City, which gave him unique insight into the complexity of coordination, compliance, and execution at the highest level.
John shares that the biggest challenges in large projects are managing the layers of coordination—balancing codes, guidelines, and teamwork while choosing the right partners. His advice to the next generation considering construction: always challenge yourself, believe in your strengths, and find the place where you truly fit in—because you are capable of more than you realize.
Outside of work, John has been married for 32 years and is the proud father of two children, both of whom he instilled with the values of independence and hard work. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and exploring photography.
We’re grateful to have John on the team and look forward to the impact he’ll continue to make here at Gramercy!
