As we wrap up 2024, we’re grateful to all of our amazing staff and crew. At the end of the year, we spotlighted two new faces to the Gramercy family, highlighted the efforts of our office support staff while also celebrated and said goodbye to one of our valued long-time team members.
Emile Bienvenue, Superintendent
Emile has been part of the Gramercy team since June, and it’s been a fantastic experience working with him. Originally from Canada, Emile moved to New York after falling in love with his now wife, Morgan. The two met while she was on a business trip, maintained a long-distance relationship for two years, and eventually tied the knot. They’ve now been happily married for six years and share their home with a small dog named Estelle.
Emile’s passion for construction stems from his father’s influence. He started working alongside his dad at just 11 years old, with one of his first projects being framing a house. This early exposure sparked his interest in the field and led him to pursue Carpentry at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He later continued his education at Olds College.
As the oldest of six siblings, Emile values teamwork and community. In his free time, he enjoys going to the beach, seeing Broadway shows, rock climbing, and hiking. What Emile loves most about his job is the variety—it’s never the same day twice. He thrives on thinking on his feet and adapting quickly to changes, as things can shift at a moment’s notice.
Emile’s advice to newcomers in the industry is simple yet profound: “Always listen to the people around you. That’s where you’ll learn the most. It’s more about the people than the work because working together is how we make things happen.”
Well said, Emile—a true team player! Thank you for being such an integral part of our team.
Amba Maloney, Accounts Payable
Amba joined Gramercy as a temp in June, and just a few months later, we were thrilled to offer her a full-time position. She has proven to be hardworking, thorough, and always brings a positive attitude to the team.
Amba grew up in Hicksville as one of five children. Her parents, both college professors, fostered her love for learning—her mother taught English, and her father taught Math.
Initially, Amba pursued a teaching career but ultimately discovered her passion for accounting. On a personal note, Amba is married to Art, her good friend growing up Kelly’s brother. Together, they have twin boys, Zachary and Anthony, who are high school seniors. She also cares for her nephew Elijah, who holds a special place in her heart.
Amba is a people person who enjoys traveling, cooking, and exercising. She appreciates her role at Gramercy because, as she puts it, “No two days are the same.” She values connecting with others and believes in showing respect by always following up, even if she doesn’t have the answer right away. Her goal is simple but impactful—making people happy.
Amba, thank you for being such a valuable addition to the accounting team and the entire Gramercy team.
Norma Madrid, Professional Commercial Cleaner
Norma Madrid, our dedicated cleaning professional who has been maintaining Gramercy headquarters for the past six years.
Norma first connected with us through a Craigslist ad, and she’s been an invaluable part of our team ever since. She keeps our offices and shop in perfect order, often going above and beyond—if something’s missing, she’ll even pick it up on her own time.
Norma is a remarkable person with a big heart. She came to the U.S. from El Salvador in 1999, bravely making the journey alone. Despite her family urging her to return, she was determined to build her life here, and through her hard work and resilience, she made it happen. She got her start babysitting and has always kept busy, juggling multiple clients, and even caring for the elderly. She has called Wantagh home since 2001.
Not only is Norma a great employee, but she is also an incredible mother. Her daughter, Diana, is currently studying to become a pharmacist. It has been a pleasure to watch Diana grow from her teenage years into her 20s.
Thank you, Norma, for all you do and for taking care of our offices over the years. We truly appreciate you!
Happy Retirement Arturo!
This fall at Gramercy Group, we celebrated Arturo, one of our most dedicated team members, with a pizza party in his honor. Arturo has been an incredible welder and fabricator for the past 23 years, and his hard work, skill, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on our company.
As Arturo embarks on his well-deserved retirement, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for his decades of service. His contributions have been instrumental in our success, and his presence will be greatly missed.
Arturo, thank you for everything you’ve done for Gramercy Group. We wish you all the best in this exciting new chapter of your life!
