As summer winds down, we’re happy to look back and highlight several of our leaders as well as newcomers to the field. This month, we had the pleasure to spotlight our summer interns. We wish them well on their paths to success. Let’s meet everyone!

Safety Director, Brian Kelty

Brian takes safety very seriously. A former firefighter, Brian has worked in construction for over 25 years. With his knowledge and experience, moving into the Safety Industry was a natural progression. Licensed as a Site Safety Manager for the past 15 years, Brian joined the Gramercy team one year ago.

A Queens native, Brian has lived in Levittown for over 30 years, where he shared his life with his beautiful wife, Lisa. They raised four sons together. Three of their sons are in construction, while the fourth, Nick (pictured below with his dad), is part of the Gramercy Team (we’ll meet him soon!).

Brian thinks of his boys every time he goes onto a job site. He understands how important it is to protect and watch over each one of our employees as if they were his own child. Brian has two Rottweilers and besides spending time with his beautiful family (which includes seven grandkids, five boys and two girls) he loves to cook and says his favorite meal is Surf and Turf.

Safety is our number one concern at Gramercy. Brian has become a fantastic leader in prioritizing it as well. Thank you Brian for keeping our sites and teams safe! We are proud to have you on our team.

Chris Castiglia, Architecture at Penn State

“During the internship/co-op, I learned that the process of demolishing a building is quite the process. I came thinking that all there was to it was driving a bulldozer through the building and dumping the debris, but it’s a more complicated and well thought out process.”

Project Manager Scott Krokoff

Growing up, Scott was always fascinated by how things were built, so a career in construction was a natural fit. Scott joined the Gramercy team in November 2018. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Civil Engineering. He followed this with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

A native of Oceanside, he now lives in New York City with his younger brother. Scott’s most memorable project so far has been the MTA installation of three elevators at the Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum Station (pictured below). He says from seeing the first shovel in the ground to watching the elevator become operational, it was one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences in his career.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. Thank you for being a part of the Gramercy team, Scott.
